About the Filmmaker
Marija Stonytė
Marija Stonytė is a Lithuanian filmmaker and producer, born in Vilnius in 1991. She studied film directing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and Escola Superior Artística do Porto. Her documentary and fiction films have received national and international recognition, including awards for One Life and Mountains to Climb. She is an alumna of IDFAcademy and IDFAcademy Summer School and has also worked as a film educator and mentor. Her latest feature documentary is GENTLE WARRIORS (2020).
